Designing Programs for Results - Online
—a 2-day training for Fort Worth agencies—
June 26-27 & September 25-26, 2025

The Fort Worth Police Department is pleased to partner with The Grantsmanship Center to offer this energetic, highly experiential training to Fort Worth service agencies.

Grantmakers focus their investments on results and long-term impact, so it’s up to organizations to design approaches that meet their residents' needs and then document the positive changes resulting from those approaches. This 2-day workshop covers the major aspects of developing effective programs that will inspire support. This training is focused on program planning rather than writing proposals.

Created specifically for virtual delivery, this training combines online presentations, discussions, and exercises with offline reading and practical applications. You won't be tempted to check email because you'll be too engaged with colleagues also eager to make better communities. We know bodies can't sit too long at a screen so online sessions are limited to 2 hours with a break at the mid-point. You get the convenience of virtual plus the delight of personal interaction.

Are you eligible to attend this training?
  1. Does your agency serve the Fort Worth area?
  2. Does your agency impact crime/safety?
  3. Have you or do you intend to apply to the City of Fort Worth for a Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) Community-Based Program grant?

If you answered 'yes' to these questions, then we welcome you to apply.

All applicants must complete a registration to secure a seat. Training is limited to three participants per agency, and class size is limited to 24 participants per training session.

During this 2-day training you'll learn how to:
  • Identify & assess community needs
  • Document needs using relevant data
  • Specify realistic, measurable changes that will result from the proposed program
  • Connect the dots between the problem and the expected change
  • Articulate an approach capable of producing the desired change
  • Develop evaluation methods to assess achievement

Return to your organization loaded with resources and an expanded professional network.

Each participant who completes the full training and also returns the Feedback Form will receive a Certificate of Completion.

What do you receive with this training?
  • Two live, interactive days of guidance from an expert in the field who cares about your success and helping to make your community safer and more vibrant.
  • A hard copy of the acclaimed textbook, Grantsmanship: Program Planning & Proposal Writing
